Get Ready to Register for Orientation!
Orientation sessions at Sac State are tailored to your major, and we’re excited to help you get started! Reservations are required and can be easily processed online through your MySacState account.
Important Note: If you're part of EOP, Guardian Scholars, Full Circle Project, Black Honors College, CAMP, or Project Rebound please reach out to your department directly before contacting us to register for Orientation.
Heads Up: Students who do not attend Orientation will not be permitted to enroll in classes, so it’s super important to make it!
Mark Your Calendar: Reservations for Winter 2025 for Spring 2025 Academic Session will open on November 1!
How to Register for Orientation
Step One: Accept your admission offer (your ITE)
Step Two: Log into MySacState
Step Three: Click STUDENT CENTER in the center of the page.
Step Four: Click Switch To Full Site
Step Five: Click New Student Orientation at the bottom of the page and follow the directions to make your reservation. Orientation sessions are based on major. If your major of interest has changed since you applied to Sac State, select an orientation date based on your new major of interest. To officially change your major, talk with the major advisor at Orientation.
Bonus: You can add up to two supporters (like a parent, spouse, or family member) to your reservation! Just note there’s a fee of $75.00 for their attendance, and they’ll follow a separate program.
Final Step: After submitting your reservation, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Be sure to finalize your reservation by paying your orientation fee!

Finalize Your Orientation Registration!
Hey future Hornet! To lock in your spot for Orientation, don’t forget to pay your orientation fees.
So, what’s included in this fee? The New Student Orientation and First Year Engagement Fee covers everything from staffing and food to parking and supplies. Plus, it helps fund awesome program materials for both you and your supporters during Orientation!
But that’s not all! Your fee also includes access to special events throughout your first year, like the New Student and Family Convocation and the super fun Hornet Nest Fest!

Refund Notification: Orientation fees are refundable if a written cancellation request is received at least two business days before your assigned date. To cancel, please email orient.reservations@8n99.com. We will not process any cancellations without a written notification .

Financial Assistance for Winter 2025 Orientation
If you require financial assistance, please complete our Fee Reduction Form for Winter 2025 Orientation related to Spring 2025 Academic Sessions. This form is specifically for students.
Important Details:
- Please allow 2-3 days for processing your request.
- If your form is approved, your orientation fee will be reduced from $180.00 to $145.00.
- Ensure you provide all the required information for processing. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
